Stay in a small 7 room boutique hotel near Santo Domingo church with a group of adventurous folks. Group size: around 7-9 people if all rooms booked!
Trip includes a 4 hour Market Street Food Tour, Monte Alban Ruins Excursion, Traditional Cooking Class, Daily Yoga & more
During free time you will be able to roam this very safe and walkable city in small groups for shopping or to visit more of the museums and admire the churches and architecture.

Look for flights arriving around 12pm on our first day, and departing around 1 or 2pm on last day. There is a route through Aeromexico & American Airlines that line-up
FREE TIME
After our tours or in the mornings, you will have time to explore. Our hotel is located 3 blocks from the Zócalo of the City of Oaxaca (city park), 1 block from Museo Belber, a 10 minute walk to the famous Santo Domingo Church & “Museum of Cultures” housed in a 17th-century convent, 1 block from Museo de Arte Prehispánico de Mexico Rufino Tamayo, and 7 blocks from the Textile Museum of Oaxaca (free).

Location: The hotel is situated in the heart of one of Mexico’s most lively and colorful cities. While they have installed noise-reducing devices in the rooms, we kindly ask for your understanding regarding any ambient city sounds.

These past few years alone she has traveled and brought small groups to Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, and Guatemala multiple times. A true foodie, yoga teacher with over 1000+ hours of training and 2000+ hours of teaching, musician, Mesoamerica art history major and more - Singer enjoys curating these trips for small groups picking the best hotels, restaurants and activities while including free time for reflection and relaxing.
Sample itinerary (small changes possible):
Day 1 - Arrival around 12pm at Oaxaca Airport. Check into the hotel early and head to a late lunch with Singer. Free time for early arrivals. Walk to a relaxed dinner as a Group at 6:30pm (foodie spot picked by Singer). (Chance to visit the Oaxaca Botanical Gardens tour at 5pm this day)
Day 2 - 7am Breakfast. 8:30am-9:30 Morning Rooftop Yoga, 10:30am Market Food Tour (4 hours): We will test 20+ traditional dishes and beverages from the region and state. This will take place throughout the 3 most important markets in Oaxaca. 2:30pm and on…FREE TIME / Dinner on your own or in small groups! Great day to visit museums & do some shopping. (Chance to visit the Oaxaca Botanical Gardens tour at 5pm this day)
Day 3 - 7am Breakfast. 8:30am-9:30 Morning Rooftop Yoga. 10:30am pickup for Monte Albán Ruins Excursion with Lunch. Dinner on your own or in small groups!
Day 4 - 7am Breakfast. 8:30am-9:30 Morning Rooftop Yoga. FREE TIME 9:30am-12pm (Shopping, Museums) // 12:30pm Pickup for Traditional Cooking Experience. Late dinner in town or free time after cooking class.
Day 5 - 8am Breakfast, relax on hotel rooftop until time to leave. Checkout between 10-11am (transport arranged to airport for flights departing between 1pm-2pm)
Weather: Daily high temperatures are around 78 degrees, and daily low temperatures around 59 degrees in September. (Great time to escape the Texas heat)
Elevation: 5,102 feet! Light rain in the afternoons is possible. But the elevation keeps the air dry and cool.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY:
A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required to hold your spot, and is included in the total cost per person. The $350 deposit is non-refundable even if the trip is canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen reasons (including travel bans, safety, weather, global health concerns). If for any reason a trip is canceled, you will however be able to transfer your $350 deposit to a future trip with Singer within 1 year.
The first payment installment will be due 30 days after signup/deposit is paid. The max number of installments is 2-3.
If trip is less than 90 days away, full payment is required at sign-up.
For Payment Plans: Your final payment installment must be received 90 Days before this trip begins, and all payments after this date are non-refundable.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation on your part, 75% of your entire payment (of what you have paid so far) will be refunded less the $350 non-refundable deposit and a $50 processing fee, only if the cancellation is made 90 days before the scheduled dates for this trip. Payments are non-refundable after this date.
If trip is canceled or rescheduled by the organizer due to unforeseen reasons (including travel bans, safety, weather, global health concerns), your entire payment will be refunded less the $350 non-refundable deposit. You will have the option to transfer your $750 non-refundable deposit to a future trip with Singer within 1 year.
All attendees will be sent a health and liability waiver + photo release to sign online before the dates of this journey.
Travel Insurance is required for this trip.
THE ART OF YOGA SCHOOL highly recommends each trip member to purchase individual travel insurance for their trip for both international retreats and domestic retreats. We suggest that you include “cancel for any reason” with your policy. You should purchase travel insurance that includes medical coverage. We recommend you purchase insurance within 1-2 weeks after making your first trip payment (ie. flight or retreat reservation) to secure the best price and best coverage.
Travel Documents and Immunizations
It is the responsibility of each traveler to obtain all required travel documents including Visas and other travel documents unless otherwise noted. It is your responsibility to purchase correct immunizations. Please contact your nearest travel clinic for the latest requirements.
